Educational Technology Philosophy Statement

Technology is a fast emerging way to gain knowledge and skills. Everyday there is new technologies being invented to reduce time, to develop new concepts, and to teach. Education has adapted many technologies to enhance the classroom and schools because it provides an extra technique or strategy to teaching.

Technology should always be introduced into the classroom because it gives students different ways to learn different concepts.  All students learn differently and technology is an added technique for students to learn.  Technology is hands-on and allows all students to get involved and interested as well as shaping the previously taught knowledge.

I see technology used everyday in my future classroom. Technology will be used to introduce as well as review ideas to my students. I believe technology is essential because it provides students with a kinesthetic approach to learning and I believe that students learn by doing.

There are several ways that I would use technology in my classroom. I plan to be a kindergarten to second grade teacher and I will use Elmos, videos, a Smart board, a projector, as well as CD and DVD players in the classroom.  I will also begin to start my students with computers and teach them how to navigate and use the computer by exploring the World Wide Web as well as different programs and software on the computer. I believe that it is so important to teach students how to use technology at a young age.  The world is becoming highly dependent on technology and it is our job to have our students become updated on the newest ways of using technology.

Technology is very important in education and all students should be provided with adequate technologies throughout the school day.  This use of technology will allow all students a different approach to learning. In my future classroom, technology will be incorporated throughout my daily lesson plans.
